Angels, Demons, and Satan
I want you to throw out any pictures that you have in your head of angels, demons, and Satan. These popular images are based on big misunderstandings for the most part. You will need to learn some new words that you don’t use very often, and you might need to redefine some words like Satan all together.
This might seem like a lot with seven videos, but they are each only about 5 minutes so you should be able to do this in our 40 minute class period. I hope that you find the videos interesting and want to dive deeper into study. Once you are done watching, please share something you learned or questions that you have in the comments. If you want to really dive deep, you can check out The Bible Project’s video notes on this Spiritual Beings Series.
I learned that satin will never stop tempting you until he’s got his way. Even once you sin (like he wants you to) he will whisper in you ear that it’s fun to sin and keep doing it. He wants you to not believe in God so when you die he can torture you. Pretty much a big backstab.
I think its really cool to know that we are being watched over and protected from the evil beings by the good and holy beings. Its a comforting thought.
Its nice to know that god is protecting and not only that quidding us through life so that when the devil tempts us we can stay strong in the faith.
I think that it’s great that we have guardian angels and not angels that look like babies with wings.
lol yea cate.
I agree with Hayden. it cool that we are being watched by things we can’t see.
Cheribum are described as hybrid creatures because every time they appear they seem to look different. They stand guard at the gates of heave, the video says, so if you see them you know you’re entering somewhere holy where God is. (Well God is everywhere)
its cool to know God is watching and protecting us even without knowing.
Humans were to rule creation in the love and power of God.
I have a question, why would there ever be any need to have cherubim guarding the barrier between earth and heaven or the garden if God is all powerful. Why wouldn’t god just use his power to stop people from entering. was it more of a symbolic thing?
That goes along with the whole question of why God chooses to use angels at all. He could do it all himself, but he chooses to share his kingdom.
I learned that elohim refers to all the spiritual brings in the heavenly realm. And God, Yahweh is above all the other lower elohim.
humans were supposed to rule the earth but Satan came and tempted us. that is when the fall happened
Cheribum guard heaven.
The Devine council is the sun moon and stars.
the cherubim are like heaven’s guardians. sorta like watchdogs with wings.
it was nice to be reminded that angels don’t look like babies with wings and that they are the ones who are there to protect us as well as the the fact that Satan doesn’t look how he is pictured
