I didn’t know that mary the first burned Thomas Cranmer at the stake.
I did not know that Henry VIII wrote a book against Luther/ Lutheranism. (is it called Lutheranism?) I also didn’t know Mary I burned Thomas Cranmer, I thought that Henry VIII did.
P.S. Stay safe!
Yes, it is called Lutheranism. Thomas Cranmer was a friend of Henry VIII, but Mary tried to undo what Henry had done.
I found it seriously surprising that France joined the Protestant side in the war, being highly Catholic. I also didn’t know that Henry VIII wrote his book against the arguments of Luther, even though I can see why he did it.
Yep. Many people mark France’s entry into the Thirty Years war on the Protestant side as the end of the era of religious wars as things shifted to more political issues.
I learned that Henry VIII wrote a book against Luther. there is also Henry VIII and Henri from France and they are different.
i didnt know girls could burn people the stake
When you are the Queen, you get your way.
I learned that princes decided to determine what religion everyone in their state would be.

I feel like Charles the 5 gets a bad rep I mean he was trying to do the best thing for his country
Charles is a very important figure and I don’t fault him for anything. He was just holding onto what he knew. He couldn’t see into the future. Not many of us can.
I find it kind of ironic that when we get told no,like Henry was with the annulment, we back away from everyone and do our own thing.
That’s a great takeaway. Henry was acting like a spoiled kid, and we all have that tendency to want to do the thing we are told we can’t do. That is our sinful nature at work in us.
